Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. Details:The Trustees of The Prayer Book Society warmly invite you to join them in celebration of this 350th Anniversary Year. All are welcome at the service of Choral Evensong at which we will be joined by our Ecclesiastical Patron, the Bishop of London and the Dean and Chapter of St Paul’s Cathedral along with our President, Vice-Presidents and honoured supporters of the Prayer Book Society. This will be followed by a reception in the Crypt. The dress code for the event is lounge suit/day dress.

Entry by ticket only. Tickets for the service are free. Tickets for the Reception are £35 per head and are limited in number so will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The closing date for applications is Wednesday, 18th April 2012 (or 11th April for overseas visitors).
