Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. Episcopal Church Passes Homoerotic/Sodomite/Lesbian/Transgender Marriage Rites

As 1000s upon 1000s have fled the TEC.  There has been a 23% reduction in attendance in the last several years.  It's even higher since 1968 when there were 3.8 million members.  About 725K attend weekly nowadays and continues to sink. This is a sure-fire technique to draw 1000s (tongue-in-cheek).

Ugh, simply ugh. It's merely another abominable step downward. For those of us who don't have any other good options for church, it hurts so incredibly bad.

It's just not worth aligning with Dispensationalists, seeker-sensitive pseudo churches, charismatics, other mainliners, or Arminians.

May our Lord have mercy.

Augustinian, I share the anguish as a fellow Anglican in deep exile.
