Martin Luther: You Tube Resources

Reformation Day is here, 31 Oct 2010. We will hear nothing from the Anglican world. We affirm most of Lutheranism. We, like the English Reformers, are Reformed and Anglican. With Cranmer, we affirm, as he did 21 Mar 1556: "...And as for the Pope, I refuse him as Christ's enemy and Antichrist, with all his false doctrine." Given widespread amnesia in Anglicanism enabled by its muddling leaders, we must do our own work. All confidence is gone as we live in the Babylonian Captivity fostered by the ecclesiastical politicians doing theology by polling indicia, cultural exegesis, and historic blindness. We offer these reminders of Bruder Martin--who gave the Gospel back to England. Classical Anglicanism is deeply indebted to Bruder Martin. Our tribute to him follows.

An excellent documentary follows. Numerous competent scholars appear in the next several sets. Of note--as an Anglican here, Alistair McGrath, Oxford, makes an appearance. Some excellent photos. Excellent commentary. Good musical background. This 2002 documentary chronicles the life of Martin Luther, from his childhood, to his days as an ascetic Catholic monk, to his stance as the voice of reform from within (and, finally, from without) the Catholic Church. This may be the best set in this post. It has twelve parts and is about 2 hours in length.
