The occasion: the demonic attack of the United States by Islamo-fascists as permitted by the All-Governing, Sovereign and Holy God. Remember God and the Sabeans in the story of Job. God had His purpose which was concurrent, but different from, the purpose of the Sabeans who raided, robbed and pillaged Job. While the Devil had his wicked purpose, God had his. Or, presently, the wicked Islamo-fascists have their purposes; God has His. Of course, no one these days could consider that this nation might be under Divine judgment or that God is Sovereign. (Um, read the OT.) Our insufferably un-insightful theological leaders are unhelpful.
