Upper South Carolina calls for cease fire in Charleston
Diocesan standing committee calls upon Presiding Bishop to stop before it is too late
The Standing Committee of Upper South Carolina has urged the Presiding Bishop to abort the national church’s legal campaign in South Carolina and wage peace with Bishop Mark Lawrence.
The 2 Nov 2012 letter urging a cease fire in the war between the national church and South Carolina may well be too late to avert a crisis. A group claiming to be the true Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina has formed and through its “transition committee” has announced that they believe the members of the South Carolina standing committee have impeached themselves, and have taken up the legal name and seal of the diocese as their own.
A spokesman for the presiding bishop’s office told a Charleston newspaper that the ecclesiastical authority in South Carolina was now vacant as the bishop had been suspended with intent to depose him for “abandoning the communion” of the Episcopal Church. The presiding bishop no longer recognized the standing committee as the lawful legal officers of the diocese.
In their letter, the Diocese of Upper South Carolina urged a stop to the fighting. They noted their close historical and fraternal ties with the low country diocese and wrote:
“The Standing Committee of the Diocese of Upper South Carolina strongly urges the Presiding Bishop and the Bishop of the Diocese of South Carolina to explore all possibilities and seek alternative means of resolving and addressing the issues between the leadership of the Diocese of South Carolina and the leadership of The Episcopal Church.”
“In spite of the obstacles being faced, we hope and pray and ask others to pray that an acceptable way forward can be found that leads toward reconciliation and continued relationship.”
No response has yet been made public by the national church offices in New York or the Diocese of South Carolina to the Upper South Carolina plea

What peace, so long as the whoredoms of Episcopessa Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many? (cf. 2Kings 9.22)
Interesting perspective. Worth a full review in light of Biblical texts on demonic actions, witchcraft, soothsaying, apostasy, heresy, corruption, defamations, distortions, distractions, disturbances, and doctrinal denials. While I've long ago dismissed "most" Episcobabble as babble, not listening to their theo-gook, it warrants another look from a Bible, Creedal, Confessional and liturgical perspective. This much: their leaders are "way, way, way off the reservation." "Jezebel" is a good term for the Baal-worshipping Queenette.
