Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. Mountebank Mahaney: 3 Oct 2011 a Verbatim Rehash--Word for Word--of 25 Sept 2011 at Dever's Church

Mahaney sermon at Capitol Hill Baptist, Washington, DC. Date: 25 Sept 2011.

Mahaney gives the same sermon, verbatim, at Cornerstone Church, Knoxville, TN.  Date: 3 Oct 2011.  Almost word-for-word.
So much for the "4-month" stand-down and "season of reflection." Mahaney pulls down a cool $250K/annum, exclusive of royalties and honorariums.  Yet, we're confident he got an honorarium from the Knoxville Church.  Why not save $$ and simply do a "replay of 25 Sept 2011" over the speaker system.  No, this is about rehabbing Mahaney (the sermon was remarkably unremarkable for both utterances).

You don't believe a preacher should ever repeat a message? Why?

Seneca, if it's a rehash, save the airfare, loding, hotel and good costs. Replaying a CD on the PA systmem without Mahahney's presence. Give the difference to a struggling family. Save on the multi-1000 honorarium. Cj's presnece ic not that necessary.
