Reformed Churchmen
We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. It is good for historic, Confessional, English Reformed Anglicans to hang around Dr. Scott Clark's website. Dr. Clark is Confessionally Reformed, vis a vis the Three Forms of Reformed Unity. We don't believe he is a 1662 BCP man. However, to be a good Confessional Anglican of the historic vintage, one always listens closely to Lutheran and Reformed voices. The poor moderns have been sidetracked and impoverished by liberalism and Anglo-Romanizing. The new ACNA isn't going far, unless you prefer muddling, compromise, lack of clarity, ignorance of the Reformation roots of Anglicanism, and more theological deafness. We recommend our readers stay tuned to Dr. Clark.
Of note, Bishop Allison Fitzsimmons spoke highly, very highly, of the ministry of White Horse Inn, a radio and website by Dr. Michael Horton, an associate of Dr. Clark's.
