Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. December 2014: Alan Jacob's "Book of Common Prayer" at: http://www.amazon.com/Book-Common-Prayer-Biography-Religious/dp/0691154813/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417814005&sr=8-1&keywords=jacobs+book+of+common+prayer. SGM-Mahaneygate: Al Mohler on Sexual Molestation

An aside and off topic from SGM-Mahaneygate inquiries, but big Al Mohler reports in on molestation issues at Penn U. Why big Al feels the need to comment on PA-issues is perplexing as a Kentuckian, but Al seems to latch onto anything in the wider press. Too bad big Al (who is small to this scribe) has failed and refused to address molestation cases here under Mahaney in SGM (e.g. Taylor, HappyMom, Noel, et.al.).  Big Al is big Al.   Al’s failures need to be addressed here re: SGM molestation cases.

Is big Al a  publicity and ambulance-chaser? Methinks so. http://www.albertmohler.com/2011/11/18/my-letter-to-the-southern-seminary-community-our-duty-to-report/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+AlbertMohlersBlog+%28Albert+Mohler%27s+Blog%29

As I age, Al growingly annoys and irritates me, including his preachy-appearances at the home church, Tenth Pres, Phila, PA. Why Tenth hosts Al is mystifying.  Al, the Revivalist Baptist, doesn’t fit.

Back to topic.
