Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. Poll Results

We had little interaction on the Poll. Yet, we get about 2000 webhits per month from around the world. This is for three months of our existence.

1. Question one. Is Reformed Theology important to Anglicanism? 14 responded.

71% said "absolutely" or "yes."
29% said "maybe."

For the 29%, you reflect a weak background on authentic Anglicanism in terms of its Articles, Prayer Book, and representative theologians (until the parasitic and destructive Tractarians and liberals arrived). For the 29%, keep reading.

No one said "no."

2. Question two. Is the Prayer Book important for use? 11 responded.

63% said "daily."
27% said "often."

No one said "never" or "no."

The 1662 BCP calling Morning and Evening Prayer, "The Order for ____________ Prayer Daily Throughout the Year." Fill in the blank with "Morning" and "Evening."

It is our unsurprising experience that daily use shapes and guides "piety' and "affections." This is not surprising since the vast reaches of the Book are drawn from Scripture.
