Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. Fed Up with Bad Church Music? Try "All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name"

Hymn text by Edward Perronet alt. John Rippon set to the hymn tune by James Ellor, DIADEM. Setting by Sterling Procter. Joshua McClure, organist.

All hail the power of Jesus' Name!
Let angels prostrate fall;
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown him, crown him, crown him,
And crown him Lord of all.

Ye seed of Israel's chosen race,
Ye ransomed of the fall,
Hail him who saves you by his grace,
And crown him, crown him, crown him,
And crown him Lord of all.

Let ev'ry kindred, ev'ry tribe,
On this terrestrial ball,
To him all majesty ascribe,
And crown him, crown him, crown him,
And crown him Lord of all.

O that with yonder sacred throng
We at his feet may fall;
We'll join the everlasting song,
And crown him, crown him, crown him,
And crown him Lord of all.

Performed at "Join To Sing The Great Salvation" a worship service serving as the graduate conducting recital of Michael Devine for the Luther Seminary/St. Olaf College Master of Sacred Music program.
