Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. BREAKING: 458 YEARS AGO TODAY, 21 Mar 1556, Mr. (Canterbury) Cranmer Burned at the Stake

BREAKING, 458 YEARS AGO TODAY.

21 March 1556 A.D. Archbishop Thomas Cranmer burned at the stake.

A few resources on Mr. Cranmer at:
http://reformationanglicanism.blogspot.com/2013/07/some-biographers-of-mr-canterbury.html

and here: http://reformationanglicanism.blogspot.com/2010/11/resources-on-thomas-cranmer.html

We have a larger bibliography of about 30 pages that is under construction and with a widening review. One result of the construction of the bibliography and much reading:  we don't listen too long to moderns or to those without the work. Thus far, it's probably Mr. (Dr. Prof.) Diarmaid MacCulloch as the most significant voice on Cranmer. He spent 10 years researching the volume.
