Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. VirtueOnline - News - News - Wikileaks: Pope's conversion offer damaged relations

After all the unctuous, smooth, oleaginous and greasy palaver about "good relations"...just as a reasonable person would imagine, we get this.

We give a tidbit from the Virtual Voice of Non-Anglicanism:

"The ambassador believed the Pope had put the Archbishop in an `impossible position.'

The Pope's invitation to Anglicans to convert to Roman Catholicism pushed relations between the churches to their lowest point in 150 years, Britain's ambassador to the Vatican warned.

Francis Campbell also feared a backlash against UK Catholics after the offer to those opposed to women bishops.

His fears are detailed in the latest US embassy cables released by Wikileaks."
