Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. Creideamh: I Saw the Lord - Isaiah 6

Creideamh: I Saw the Lord - Isaiah 6

Creadiemh is Gaelic for "Faith." This is a sermon by the Rev. Iain D. Campbell of the Free Church of Scotland in the Isle of Lewis, northwest Scotland. We are most thankful for internet. This would have been impossible even twenty years ago.

This Churchman is a benchmark for preaching that I hope younger readers, younger Pastors, will emulate.

Lord willing, we will be following Rev. Campbell's ministry. Most highly commended.

This scribe's view of heaven. A Calvinist Churchman in the pulpit like this man, an essentially Psalm-singing congregation, a pipe organ, the old 1662 liturgy of The Book of Common Prayer, with Lutheran chorales for preludes and postludes.

Rev. Iain Campbell needs to be the regular pulpit supply at the Canterbury Cathedral, UK. I'm not kidding. God as given us all the opportunity to sit under some incredible instruction. Tune this blog out and RSS-subscribe to his blogspot.
