Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. Fed Up with Bad Church Music? Try "Come, Christians, Join to Sing Alleluia! Amen?

Hymn text by Christian H. Bateman set to the Sterling Procter arrangement of the Spanish Melody MADRID. Benjamin Alle and Noah Ophoven-Baldwin, Trumpets. Kristen Haug, French Horn. Tim Endorf, Trombone. Andrew Hess, Timpani. Joshua McClure, Organ.

Come, Christians, join to sing Alleluia! Amen!
Loud praise to Christ our King; Alleluia! Amen!
Let all, with heart and voice, Before His throne rejoice;
Praise is His gracious choice. Alleluia! Amen!
Come, lift your hearts on high, Alleluia! Amen!
Let praises fill the sky; Alleluia! Amen!
He is our Guide and Friend; To us He'll condescend;
His love shall never end. Alleluia! Amen!
Praise yet our Christ again, Alleluia! Amen!
Life shall not end the strain; Alleluia! Amen!
On heaven's blissful shore, His goodness we'll adore,
Singing forevermore, "Alleluia! Amen!"

Performed at "Join To Sing The Great Salvation" a worship service serving as the graduate conducting recital of Michael Devine for the Luther Seminary/St. Olaf College Master of Sacred Music program.
