« Children’s Catechism, week 3. Yes, for children, from a day when there were "standards," unlike today. Nowadays, we have Murrikan Cowboy religion. Just spent two weeks listening to "The Trinity Broadcasting Network," an American phenomenon of the worst sort. Cowboys, yahoos, carnival barkers. No theological standards, except those hothouse principles of Pentecostal enthusiasms. From such, Good Lord, deliver us we most heartily and earnestly beseech Thee!

Q. 7. What are the decrees of God?
A. The decrees of God are, his eternal purpose, according to the counsel of his will, whereby, for his own glory, he hath foreordained whatsoever comes to pass.[22]
Q. 8. How doth God execute his decrees?
A. God executeth his decrees in the works of creation and providence.[23]
