Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. A word to the wise re: Pentecostalist-Revivalist-Anabaptistic Worship

A word to the wise re: Pentecostalist-Revivalist-Anabaptistic worship, what I call the "Religio Americanorum." Thank God for the Bible, good, thoughtful and Reformed Confessions, as well as thoughtful, careful, disciplined, slow, prudent and biblical prayers, doctrine and worship in the Book of Common Prayer (tossed by imprudent and brash Puritans).

Ecc.5.2:Do not be hasty in word or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God. For God is in heaven and you are on the earth; therefore let your words be few.

‎99.9% of what occurs in Pentecostal loondom is "blabbaphilia, yappaphilia, yappaholism, motor-mouthism, carnival-barkerism." This is not over-stated.

A "Word" from above, from God, from Ecc.5.2, to the carnival barkers: "Shut up!" One word to Crouch, "Shut up!" Thoughtless, irreverent, if not Godless, babbling. "Give it up!" "Get off the airwaves, electronic media and retract the publications!" If a Pentecostalist reading this, say, pray, think and live this prayer as outlined at: http://reformationanglicanism.blogspot.com/2010/08/9th-collect-after-trinity-rightful.html This includes much of the Contemporary Worship scene as well. "Enough, already!"

I generally don't give out details. Unfortunately, I rarely read my emails either.

Are there questions you might have that can be posted here?
