Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. Lady Jane Grey Confronted Death with

Confidence 460 Years Ago Today

from Feb 12, 2014

460 years ago, Lady Jane Grey was executed. She was 18 years old. Justin Taylor posted an insightful interview today on his blog that helps correct some of the myth surrounding her death.

Ligonier Teaching Fellow, Dr. Stephen Nichols, featured Lady Jane Grey in his Reformation Profiles teaching series. He shares how her conviction that justification is by faith alone enabled her to face beheading with confidence that the salvation of her soul rested in the hands of her Savior and not her own.

This message on Lady Jane Grey and the others in the Reformation Profiles series are free to stream for the month of February.
