Reformed Churchmen

We are Confessional Calvinists and a Prayer Book Church-people. In 2012, we remembered the 350th anniversary of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer; also, we remembered the 450th anniversary of John Jewel's sober, scholarly, and Reformed "An Apology of the Church of England." In 2013, we remembered the publication of the "Heidelberg Catechism" and the influence of Reformed theologians in England, including Heinrich Bullinger's Decades. For 2014: Tyndale's NT translation. For 2015, John Roger, Rowland Taylor and Bishop John Hooper's martyrdom, burned at the stakes. Books of the month. Evangelicals Absorbing and Assimilative, if not Embarking to Papal Rome

Rev. Bennett raises the great concerns over Evangelical-Catholic Together. (More articles available using the "search" button the right near the bottom.) We believe assimilation and dulled senses are resulting to 1) lowered interests in doctrine, 2) lowered views of Biblical authority, 3) Pentecostalists--a growing phenomenon--and their incurable, persistent anti-doctrine, anti-intellectual, and anti-Bible perspectives, 4) gross indifferentism to biblical doctrine in the mainline Protestant groups, 5) Billy Graham's defection from Confessional Protestant Churchmanship and misled ecumenism, 6) Contempory Christian music that indoctrinates congegations with Biblical literacy, 7) Declension from Reformed and solid Prayer Book Churchmanship, 8) human nature, which has always inclined to corruption (e.g. Judges, the book of the kings, Rev.1.-3), 9) absence of catechesis in the Reformed Confessions and Catechisms, 10) Theology professors, e.g. James Packer and Timothy Geroge, who have lost touch with the facts "on the ground." 11) Shepherd doctrine on "justification by sanctification" in Prebyterian circles and an independentist outift like Doug Wilson's denomination, has prompted some, e.g. Scott Hahn, to become Romanist. Christianity Today has been a major publication puffing ECT.

As such, assimilation and affirmation of Rome is made easier. While outright departure may not always result, ECT lays a foundation for it.

Then, Rev. Bennett comes along and confronts ECT. Drs. Sproul, Horton, MacArthur and other have arisen to critique ECT. James Packer has all but disappeard from speaking at Reformed conferences.

Rev. Bennett includes this citation with his video and we quote:

"We have posted a new video documenting the fact that several well respected and influential Evangelicals have compromised with the false gospel of Papal Rome. Michael de Semlyen and Richard Bennett make the presentation along with Brian Haskin's narration and professional editing. We ask that you have this video shown to your church and friends. We believe that what is required is biblical separation from those who have perverted the Gospel of Christ. Christians must first know the facts, what has happened and is happening before our eyes. We pray to the all holy and righteous God that despite all of this His Gospel may be made even more splendidly clear to many for the glory of His name and the salvation of souls. Your comments placed on the website where the video is located will greatly help in this endeavor as we jointly earnestly contend for the faith once given to the saints."
