Lucian, Presbyter-Elder and Martyr. A Gallican Churchman, of Roman birth, sent as a Presbyter to be one of the companions of Denys in his mission from Rome to Gaul in A.D. 245.  He is said to have become Bishop of Beauvais and to have suffered martyrdom there A.D. 290. -- January 8th.
