22 January 2015 A.D. GYSGT “Old
Dutch” Frederick, USMC (ret.) Passes
Old Gunny Dutch would wear his uniform on Memorial and
Veterans' Days when our parish generally recognizes Veterans. Old Dutch ushered
for our services right up to and including last Sunday. He passed Tuesday
night/early Wednesday morning and was found by his son on Thursday, still in
bed with covers as if sleeping. His Sovereign called and Old Dutch
"stepped off" (our term for beginning a long march, that is,
"stepping off"). Just bad news for our little parish.
