Another senseless note of little
sense at: http://www.eskimo.com/~lhowell/bcp1662/notes/saints.html#NameJesus . A sensible and literate Cleric should be
running through these sections of the Gospels 2, at least 3, times per
month…not some annual event.
Name of Jesus. Taken from the Sarum
Calendar; formerly observed (as was natural) on the Feast of the Circumcision,
and in the Roman Church, on the 2nd Sunday after Epiphany. Why it should be
placed here, unless in connection with the display of Our Lord's majesty in the
Transfiguration, it is hard to say. -- August 7th.
