Reformation Bible College: Third Annual Convocation
During the events of this past weekend’s 2013 Fall Conference and Preview Weekend at Reformation Bible College (RBC), attendees witnessed a significant event in the life of the College. Having entered its third year, RBC formally marked the beginning of the academic year with the convocation ceremony on Friday, September 27.
The evening began with inspiring music by Reginald Lyle, playing the beautiful prelude of Highland Cathedral on the bagpipes, followed by the hymn, How Firm a Foundation as the College’s students and faculty, dressed in full academic regalia, processed into the sanctuary of Saint Andrew’s Chapel.
Following a prayer of invocation, Ligonier Teaching Fellow Dr. Sinclair Ferguson delivered the commencement address, entitled “Homo Sapiens” in keeping with the conference’s exploration of man’s role as an image bearer of God. Dr. Ferguson addressed the students and faculty from Proverbs 4, which contains a father’s speeches to his son, urging him to seek wisdom. Reflecting on the wisdom of God as it is displayed in His works of creation and providence, Dr. Ferguson exhorted the faculty and students to seek wisdom by seeking our Savior, reminding them that “the pursuit of wisdom is the pursuit of the Lord Jesus Christ.”For the rest, see:
