This is funny, in one sense alone, listening to these two Chaps discuss "Anglican drunks and alcoholics who've fallen off the cliff." (Their words on the URL.) Theologically, what is one to think? "Drunken sailors who've fallen into a ditch..." The metaphor, offered by Mr. (Canterbury) Welby last week, is rich...deliciously rich. The metaphor should be explored, expanded, and vigorously applied. Or, how about a ship going down at sea? "Time for false teachers to be called out..." says one speaker. With what? What theology? What do you believe? The REAL TRAGEDY is the impact on the pew. Who the heck cares about the collars and leaders? It's about the pew. As I listened to this, while rather funny, the absence of substantive theology...by the participants...was sad.  Perhaps they have some, but we didn't hear much, if anything at all. Can we say "empty?"

Whaddya gonna do?

Mr. (ABP) Glenn Davies of Australia offers some hope--a man with a solid theology.
