Hinn, Ex-Wife Announce Plans to Remarry
After reconciling late last year, evangelist Benny
Hinn and his ex-wife Suzanne are now planning to getting remarried.
The couple made their announcement on "The 700 Club"
Monday that they will tie the knot for a second time this fall. They divorced
in 2010 after 30 years of marriage.
Earlier this month, Hinn admitted he often put his work before his wife, and that
partially led to their separation.
"Benny has always said he was
[committed] to the ministry, and I had no problem with that. Then he started to
say that he was married to the ministry," Suzanne told hsot Pat Robertson
during the broadcast.
"And I knew how to sacrifice him
and give him up to the Lord, I had no problem with that," she continued.
"But it became more and more obvious when it became birthdays or
anniversaries and I thought, 'Finally he's mine,' and there would be an
emergency or something would come up and he'd be gone."
Suzanne was also battling her own
problems at the time, including an addiction to prescription drugs.
"My fault and mistake is that I
became so involved in the ministry that I really was not paying attention to
Suzanne and the struggles she was going through emotionally," Hinn said.
He added that he was initially
unaware of his wife's prescription drug abuse. She was eventually treated at
the Betty Ford Clinic while their divorce was underway.
Hinn said she's been set free of the
addiction.
Suzanne is expected to join Hinn on
the road as he continues to travel the world with his ministry. He also
recently told supporters he expected her to be by his side "for the rest
of my life."
