Dear Dr. Ratzinger:

An article appeared in the London “Telegraph” on 19 Jun 2011 entitled “Knights Templar heirs demand apology from Vatican.” The byline reads:  “The heirs to the Knights Templar have demanded an apology from the Vatican for the murder of their last leader, who was burned at the stake in the 14th century.”

As heirs of the murdered Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Cranmer, we—many of us—expect an apology from the Vatican also.  You are the Bishop of Rome;  we demand intentional truth, determined honour and an explicit apology.

As an heir of Thomas Cranmer, without your compliance, it will continue to be my duty to retell my fellow heirs of the story and godless impenitence--not just about Thomas Cranmer but the others burned at the stake in 1555-1556.

Sincerely,

/s/

Donald Philip Veitch
