Although the words were by Charles Wesley, brother of the lunatical, pugilistic, anti-Calvinistic, anti-39 Articles, anti-Reformation and heretical Arminian, John Wesley, we still possess the great hymn "O For a Thousand Tongues." John Wesley was an undoubted Romanist, without knowing it--as have been his followers. No doubt, John Wesley deserved to be defrocked, but the episcopal bench--then, as now--was weak, ineffectual and not worth hearing. Yet, the words of this great hymn live on. As to the lyrics, we have no issue. However, Psalm-singing needs to be restored to Prayer Book Anglicanism...not great hymns alone.
