In light of the amnesia and revisionism amongst Anglicans and as controlled by their leaders, we must go back to the sources. The Anglican blogs, websites, and news centres are all but silent on the English Reformation. It is quite curious that ACNA Bishops are all but silent for Reformation Day, 2010. We bring some resources to you.
Here is our first and we quote.
"This is the evolution of how the Scriptures were freed from the Roman Catholic church and those who were persecuted and killed in the fight for that right. Every Christian needs to know this history. It will give you strength in your walk with Christ and respect for the later period of men who fought for your right to interpret the Scriptures for yourself and your freedom from the tyranny of the Catholic Church.
If you are a Roman Catholic, it is even more important that you are privy to the information within this video series. Although the inquisition is over physically, it is not over spiritually." (Regrettably, this video is marred by the contemporary music and a few other twitty editorial insertions.)

This one is quite too much, to wit, that Anglicans persecuted Protestants...but it is what it is. For what it is worth. Yet, this is worth watching.

The next set of six videos deal with English Reformation. Historian Simon Schama examines the English Reformation, predominately the events of the Henrician Reformation. As a professional historian, we get sensibility and balance. Covers not only the political factors and the role of certain prominent persons, including Thomas Cromwell, but also looks at how the changes had an impact lower down in society and how the physical structure of the local parish church changed.

An eight-part series on Dr. John Wycliffe, Oxford don and professor, the "Morning Star of the Reformation," and great defender of the vernacular Bible for common worship. Rome has never repented of its aggressive wickedness re: the Bible scholar. Let us not forget that Popedom withheld God's Word to the people in the vernacular until 1965, Vatican 2. Let us, as Anglicans, not forget that the Oxford Puritans (Tractarians), seeking to de-Protestantize England under John Newman, were advocates of Romanism and the with-holding of God's Word from the people, e.g. Pope Pius 9 and the Syllabus of Errors, 1864--who oppugned the vernacular Bible and Bible Society.

Jan Huss, student of John Wyclffe, we bring a 6-video set. Luther would be accused of Hussitism (ergo, Wycliffitism) and Luther would acknowledge it. Rome, under JP11, made a most tepid and generic acknowledgement of Rome's wicked murderousness against Huss. Far too tepid. Explicit confess would have compromised Vatican 1.

William Tyndale. We bring a 3-part series about an early English Reformer, a skilled language man in 8 language. Some noteworthy comments by Daniel Danielle, a Tyndale scholar...whose work, William Tyndale, is a must-have. This is a serious set.

We bring a 6-part series on William Tyndale from another series. It is extremely difficult to understand this period of transition from Latin-based worship to English-based lections and "common" worship. Let us not forget that the Vatican has never repented for its anti-Bible hostilities. Let us not forget Papist hostilities to God's Word even during the Tractarian-Puritan period--when Romanism still was hostile to God's Word. Away with Newman, Keble, and Pusey--and American Anglo-Papists and modern Anglo-catholics. The Papists put God's Word into the vernacular after Vatican 2, 1965, 400-plus years after the Reformation...and without apology for its previous wickednesses, including John Henry Newman in England, a true apostate to the Reformation, we get nothing. Thank God for the English Reformation. Prof. Daniel Danielle, a veritable scholar, appears throughout.
