Priestly Confession Properly Understood Brings Comfort And Quietness
Hugh Latimer (1485-1555)
Hugh Latimer (1485-1555) was Bishop of Worcester and a leading ReformerBUT to speak of right and true confession, I would to God it were kept in England, for it is a good thing. And those which find themselves grieved in conscience might go to a learned man, and there fetch of him comfort of the word of God, and so come to a quiet conscience; which is better and more to be regarded than all the riches of the world. And sure it grieveth me much that such confessions are not kept in England.
