This reflects the Romewardizing-angle of the Anglican Province in America (APA). Walter Grunsdorf, their Bishop, a man without a graduate degree, a baccalaureate graduate from a fundamentalist outfit---Bob Jones University--reflects on how this offer is the "fruit of 100 years of prayer."
Quite chaotically, the Reformed Episcopal Church pushed for a "merger" with the APA at one point.
We're not surprised by this announcement at all.
