Nine Factors in the Resurgence of American Calvinism

Nine Factors

Nine factors for the emergence of Calvinism in America by the Rev. Dr. Ligon Duncan. Although a Presbyterian himself, the work of Dr. R.C. Sproul has been a large factor and has influenced the Baptists in the country, e.g. Al Mohler and John MacArthur.
The Rev. Dr. James Packer has been another influence, although he signalled his substantial weakness, perhaps prompted by his desire for charity. We always applaud charity and kindness to an enemy, but this does not entail doctrinal mish-mashery.
This unforgiveable event on Packer's front was occasioned by his signature of the ECT-debacle-document in the mid-1990's. As a result, Jim was marginalized by educated Reformed Churchmen in this country--he gets no invitations to speak at Reformed conferences anymore.
Yet confused visionaries like David Virtue hail his work.
We must march with the Confessional Reformed Churchmen, not Packer and Virtue, so unable to see or oppose the homocidal Gospel of Rome or Anglo-Romewardizers.
Capitulation--by leaders--on a battleline is not allowable in the Church Militant. Leaders must lead by example. It is excellent that, in effect, Packer has been put under discipline by Reformed Churchmen, until he repents publicly. He's been a public scandal.
