Independence Weekend, 2009
I salute my Fellow-Warriors of the past...also those on active duty as we write, those who are retired, those who are disabled (like myself, 100%), those who died, and those who are maimed--like those Warriors at Camp Lejeune where I live--and those who simply did a few years. And, indubitablity, those men serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
It is a "band of brothers." My salute to you, fellow Vets and Warriors.
An especial word of note and honour to those remaining from WW2, like Dad...like many others. Korean and Vietnam Vets, many still in Jacksonville, where I reside.
I had the honour to kneel next to a USMC General yesterday during Communion to receive the Body and Blood of Christ Jesus our Lord. A fellow Vet.

From a disabled Veteran and US Marine, lest we forget.

Thank you Phil for your link. That music is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDizma, many have suffered. I live at Camp Lejeune and see many who have served and sufferred. Thanks for your comment. PV
ReplyDeleteDizma, thank you. Independence Day and Vets Weekends are always challenging times for me, considering those men who went down at sea, from the air, or while serving on the ground.
